Dr. Boone’s multifaceted and integrative approach to addressing weight management includes considerations in all of the following areas: past medical history, sleep hygiene, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, nutritional intake, movement, hormonal levels, and genetic tendencies towards underlying inflammation. This allows for a more meaningful doctor-patient interaction, and allows Dr. Boone to identify precise areas of improvement. Often included in the first assessment is comprehensive blood work including diabetes screening, metabolic panels, vitamin levels, thyroid testing, cortisol testing, inflammatory markers, cholesterol levels, and/or hormonal testing if applicable. An in-depth plan is then developed, which includes lifestyle changes, and if appropriate, the incorporation of weight loss medications, as well as access to an accountability and health coaching partner. 

Dr. Boone also specializes in treatment of perimenopause/ menopause for women and hormone revitalization for men. She is a dedicated member of the North American Menopause Society, and stays up to date with the latest cutting-edge research. We now know that our hormone levels can begin to decline and fluctuate up to ten years prior to menopause, resulting in imbalances throughout the body that can be detrimental to the body’s vital organ systems, including bone health, brain function and cardiovascular health. Dr. Boone takes a holistic and modern medical approach, working to heal and balance the physical body and mind from the inside out.
