For acne scarring concerns, microneedling with the SkinPen is a minimally invasive, cosmetic procedure that uses thin needles to create tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. The minor “damage” to your skin stimulates your skin’s natural healing process, improving texture and producing more collagen and elastin, which keeps your skin looking smoother and renewed. Botox is the brand name of an injectable cosmetic treatment. It is the first and only FDA-approved treatment to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the area of the forehead, as well as between and around the eyes. It is a purified neurotoxin that works by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. Once injected, the targeted muscles relax, decreasing their movement.
