PRE CARE

  • Laser hair removal can’t be performed on skin that has been treated with self-tanning products or spray tans. You must wait at least two weeks after the use of self-tanning products or receiving a spray tan before laser hair removal can be performed on the skin.
  • Please avoid sun exposure for 1-3 weeks prior to treatment. Use a minimum of SPF 30 daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UBA rays. Do not use self-tanning products for 1-3 weeks prior to and/or post-treatment. Discontinue use of Tretinoin products, such as Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, etc., at least 2-3 days prior to treatment. Discontinue use of Hydroquinone 2-3 days prior to treatment.
  • If you have a history of cold sores please begin prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar no later than 1 day prior to your laser treatment. Please notify the office if you develop a cold sore, acne, or open lesions in the area you plan to have treated, or if you experience any type of illness prior to your treatment. It is best to avoid Ibuprofen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories for 3 days prior to and post-treatment. The longevity of Botox, and fillers done any time within 6 months prior to face treatment may be affected. Botox and/or fillers within 2 weeks prior to laser treatment are not recommended.

POST CARE

  • You may experience a sunburn sensation immediately following treatment. Although rare, some light swelling is possible. Darkening of freckles and other areas of your skin is normal. If this occurs, do not pick or exfoliate the areas. If on the face, these areas will flake off or lighten on their own over the next week. If on the body, these areas will flake off or lighten on their own over the next several weeks.
  • If you experience a burn, gently cleanse the area and use hydrocortisone cream on the area several times a day for the next week. If the burn area opens at all, also use antibiotic ointment on top of the hydrocortisone cream. Please notify the office immediately of any burns. Please use SPF 30 or higher daily on the treated area if exposed to the sun.
  • It is ok to resume your normal skincare regimen after 3 days following treatment, or sooner if advised by your technician. Make-up may be applied the day after your treatment, or sooner if advised by your technician.
